Also, during this time, rainfall is low and there are few storms, allowing visitors to enjoy their vacation without worrying about bad weather. December to February is the peak tourist season as the weather is perfect for leisure activities. However, if you want to avoid the crowds, November and March, April are better options.

On the other hand, May to October is the rainy season and also the typhoon season, so it is not an ideal time to visit Pilar Beach. During these months, the temperature rises and there is a risk of tropical storms, which can affect travel plans.

Transportation to Pilar Beach

Plane: For international visitors, the fastest way to get to Pilar Beach is to fly into Jardines del Rey International Airport, located on Cayo Coco Island, near Cayo Guillermo. The airport is connected to many major cities around the world as well as within Cuba. From the airport, you can take a taxi or bus, which takes about 45 minutes to get to Pilar Beach.

Car: If you are staying in major cities like Havana or Varadero, you can rent a car or use a taxi service to get to Cayo Guillermo. The Autopista Nacional highway leads from Havana to the northern regions and over a road bridge that connects the mainland to the Jardines del Rey archipelago, which includes Cayo Guillermo. The distance from Havana to Cayo Guillermo is about 500 km, so it will take you about 5-6 hours to drive.

Bus: Cuba has a good long-distance bus system, especially with companies like Viazul that cater to tourists. You can buy a bus ticket from Havana or other cities to Cayo Coco or Cayo Guillermo, then continue to Pilar Beach by taxi or local transport.
