During this period, the weather is pleasant with cool temperatures ranging from 12°C to 22°C, perfect for visiting vineyards, enjoying wine and exploring the natural landscape. This is also the grape harvest season, when visitors have the opportunity to experience special events such as wine festivals and tasting freshly produced wines.

Another time not to be missed is from September to November, when spring comes and the valley is fresh with flowers and fresh air. During this time, the temperature is warm but not too hot, between 10°C and 25°C, which is ideal for outdoor activities such as visiting vineyards, horse riding and hiking. Tours depart from the Hunter Valley Adventure Centre. A guide will then take you along off-road trails and through an 1880s cattle route to the Hunter Resort grounds. Keep an eye out for hares, kangaroos and foxes as you head to the Vanessa Vale vineyard and Hunter Valley Bottling Company.

Explore Hunter Valley Gardens

Ten themed Hunter Valley gardens offer a magical adventure through nature with roses, oriental plants and formal landscapes that change magically with the seasons. The Hunter Valley Gardens span 225 hectares in Pokolbin, with 60 acres dedicated to international show gardens. So put on your walking shoes, trek through 8km of trails and get your camera ready to capture the sparkling waterfalls and enchanting statues.

Hiking in Yengo National Park

When you’re looking for some remote seclusion, grab your hiking boots and head to Yengo National Park. Part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, the majestic gorges and ridges are intertwined with Aboriginal cultural heritage and stunning walking trails. For a relaxing walk, take the Finchley Cultural Walk and discover Aboriginal carvings along the way.
